  • The Partner route allows eligible individuals to join or remain with their spouse or partner in the UK. Applications must meet relationship, financial and English language requirements under the Immigration Rules.

  • You may be eligible if you:

    • Are married to or in a civil partnership with a British citizen or settled person
    • Are in a genuine and subsisting relationship
    • Meet the financial requirement
    • Satisfy the English language requirement

    This route also applies to unmarried partners who meet cohabitation requirements.

  • Genuine Relationship
    Applicants must demonstrate that the relationship is genuine and ongoing.

    Financial Requirement
    The sponsor must meet the applicable income threshold or rely on permitted sources of income or savings.

    Accommodation
    Adequate accommodation must be available without recourse to public funds.

    English Language
    Applicants must meet the required level of English proficiency unless exempt.
